Known as the Mrchenknig, the King Ludwig II of Bavaria was born in Nymphenburg Castle, Munich, in 1845. Before being blessed with the pedestal of king of Bavaria at the age of 18, Ludwig II was a member of the Wittelsbach dynasty.
